THE LIFE I HAD
TO BUILD
A 50-pound transformation that had nothing to do with weight — and everything to do with building a life aligned with what matters.
Lobo Life™ is not a retreat from real life. It’s an invitation to create a better one.
THE LIFE I
HAD TO BUILD
“I didn’t move to Colombia to escape my life. I moved to create one.”

or most of my life the instruction was simple. Keep working. Keep performing. Keep accomplishing. Keep being the person everyone expected me to be. What nobody asks you is the only question that matters:
What do I actually want my life to be?
There was a period when I didn’t have a good answer.
I don’t tell that part of the story for sympathy. It’s simply the truth. I was successful on paper and disconnected from the life underneath it.
What eventually changed me wasn’t one breakthrough moment. It was clarity — one question asked honestly, over and over:
What would I build if I built it simply because I loved it?
The answer kept coming back to the things that had always made me feel most alive:
Dance. Music. Movement. People. Adventure. Learning.
So I moved to South America. Not to escape my life — to build the one I actually wanted.
Purpose Before The Plan
01Moving to Colombia gave me the space to strip everything back and figure out what mattered.
I surrounded myself with people who inspired me.
I spent more time in nature.
I trained because I wanted to, not to punish myself.
I became connected to some of the best Latin dancers in the country.
Something happened along the way. Fitness stopped being something I had to force myself to do. Healthy living stopped feeling like punishment. Movement became something I looked forward to. Adventure became part of the routine. Community became part of the lifestyle.
I lost the weight. Nearly 50 pounds. But the body isn’t really the point.
The body was evidence of something deeper: a life finally pointed in the right direction.
You still have to work. You still have to be patient. You still have to show up when you don’t feel like it. There are no shortcuts. But when the work belongs to a life you chose, it stops feeling like discipline. It becomes freedom.
There is nothing revolutionary about working hard. What’s revolutionary is knowing what you’re working toward.
The APEX Method™ is the framework behind Lobo Life™ — it came from the process I had to go through myself.
Dance Was Never Just Dance
02I’ve spent more than two decades teaching people how to dance. But I’ve come to understand that what happens on a dance floor has very little to do with memorizing steps.
A man walks into a room unsure of himself. He doesn’t know how to approach someone. He doesn’t know how to lead. He doesn’t know where to put his hands. He doesn’t know how to communicate without words.
Then something changes. He learns to listen. He learns to move. He learns to lead without forcing. He learns to become comfortable being uncomfortable.
That’s bigger than dance. That’s confidence.
Dance taught me that transformation doesn’t always begin with sitting down and trying to fix yourself.
Sometimes you have to move.
Building The Environment
03Lobo Life™ came from that realization. I wanted to build the environment I needed when I was rebuilding myself.
A place where movement is normal.
Where being active is fun.
Where men grow socially confident through dance.
Where fitness is integrated, not a punishment.
That’s what I’ve been building in Medellín. A dance studio. An art gallery. Waterfall hikes. A pack that holds the line. And an environment where people can slow down enough to actually experience their lives while simultaneously challenging themselves to become better.
What Comes Next
04I’ve spent most of my life helping other people become better. Now I’m building something that brings everything I’ve learned into one place.
Not because I have life figured out. I’m still building. Still learning. Still changing. But I finally know what I’m building toward.
A life with purpose.
A body that works.
Work that matters.
People worth knowing.
Places worth exploring.
Music worth dancing to.
And enough courage to keep choosing the life that feels true to me. That’s what Lobo Life™ is. It’s not a retreat from real life — it’s an invitation to create a better one.
I built it for myself first. Now I’m opening the door for the people who want to build theirs.
